Will I need an assembler for nand2tetris part 2?

I haven't written the assembler. It's been a long time since I took the 1st course and now I don't remember anything. So it will be harder to write it now. Is it necessary to write it or I can continue with the 2nd part? Thank you.

You can continue on with Part II, though it might be in your best interest to go ahead and write the assembler to get your head back in the game and refamiliarize your self with the instruction set architecture.
