help with create a file

i download the notepad++
and i try make a normal code of Xor that i copy from the course
and i cant open the file or save it has hdl code.
can someone pls help me to make a normal hdl code? i just don't know how save file as hdl

If you mean that the file you are saving doesn't have a .hdl extension, then to solve that all you do is when you do Save As just type the name of the file including the extension.
