run the program

when i run the jack compiler then i have to run the dir in the VM i tried to run the program snake from
https://github.com/ybakos/csci498-games2011/tree/master/SnakeLike 
but it was very very slow ...
how can i run it in other way ?

It runs at reasonable speed for me. Be sure to select Animate: No animation in the VM simulator.
