Jack CHESS with my VM Translator is 345,535 Hack assembly instructions (not counting comments and labels), which means 345,535 Hack machine language instructions.
However, my VM Translator does NOT output optimized .asm code - it merely conforms to the nand2tetris course. I've read about optimizations on this forum and it seems one could get as much as a 65% reduction in program size with the best optimizations.
So perhaps someone's VM Translator could get this down to 345,535 * .35 = 120,000 instructions, still way bigger than the Hack 32k ROM, and I'm not even counting the Jack OS...
Interesting stuff on Apollo!
