Hardware simulator crash

Whenever I try to load a chip into the hardware simulator, the simulator just closes, and i get an error message in the folder. It worked fine a couple days ago, and I don't think anyone has changed any of the settings on the computer. I tried redownloading the folder, should I update java? Has this happened to anyone else?
